We wish to acknowledge this land on which the University of Toronto operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are truly grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.

We aim to find creative solutions to environmental and healthcare sustainability challenges through our research. In this pursuit, we will strive to consider and learn from Indigenous practices and leaders on sustainability, research, and teaching. We also commit to acting on U of T’s Calls to Action initially outlined in the Answering the Call: Wecheehetowin report responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.
