Nazli received her BSc and MSc from the University of British Columbia, where her research used RNA sequencing to understand resistance mechanisms in agricultural pests. While living abroad in Germany, Nazli studied collective behaviour in C. elegans at The Max Planck Institute of Animal Behaviour. She also spent some time in the Department of Molecular Genetics at UofT working on a transcriptomics project to examine bioactivation of nematicides in C. elegans. In the Weckman lab, she is currently working on point-of-care diagnostics to detect microRNAs. In her free time Nazli enjoys board games, hiking, photography, and travelling!
