Maya is finalizing her degree in Engineering Science at the University of Toronto. Her thesis worked on developing portable CRISPR-based sensors for sensitive and rapid detection of fungal infections. Outside of the lab, Maya enjoys crafting, listening to music, and playing with her cat, Pickles.
