BASc Engineering Science, University of Toronto 2025
Maya graduated from the Engineering Science program at the University of Toronto with a major in Biomedical Systems Engineering in 2025. For her fourth-year thesis, Maya worked in the Weckman Lab on developing portable CRISPR-based sensors for detecting fungal infections. Her current project aims to develop these sensors for the detection of Neisseria Gonorrhoeae at the point-of-care. Outside of the lab, Maya enjoys crafting, listening to music, and playing with her cat, Pickles.
